Essence of Christmas

Christmas!!! We are celebrating this day yearly,   in every 25th of December.
It is a season of gift-giving to one another, family building and many more. This is a special day for us. For we all know that this day was the birth of our saviour   Jesus Christ. .

Months before Christmas, we can already feel the essence of it. Everyone is very excited to decorate their houses, building or making Christmas tree. Decorating every part of the house of different Christmas decors like Christmas lights, lanterns and more. Many children are   carolling from different houses. They are very happy on doing this because they are receiving money.

And on the day of December 16, the "Simbang Gabi" will be starting; many of the people will go to church to complete the "Simbang Gabi". Before the day of Christmas, many people are going to the supermarket to buy something for the noche buena.

"CLIMATE CHANGE"

Nowadays, we are causing the mismanagement of our natural resources.
Improper disposal of wastes, deforestation, intensive farming and the destroying of our environment  hence, climate change takes place. But we don't know that we are all given the responsibility to take care of our environment?

People can no longer use river and seas for swimming and washing. Fisherman can no longer catch fish there. Then the river turns dark and fast-smelling and dumping of chemical wastes and garbage into the rivers and seas cause sudden bloom of algae. The trees in the forest are cut down by loggers for profit. They do not properly replant and take care of the baby trees which are supposed to replace the cut trees. As trees are cut, the habitats of animals are destroyed. Many species of plants and animals die.

In order for us to live in a clean and green environment, we should practice proper waste disposal and plant young trees to replace the cutted trees for our comfort and safety during disasters.

ENGLISH MONTH :)

Language proficiency or linguistic proficiency is the ability of an individual to speak or perform in an acquired language. As classify it. Additionally, fluency and language competence are generally recognized as being related, but separate controversial subjects.
There are many reasons to learn English, but because it is one of the most difficult languages to learn it is important to focus on exactly why it is important to focus to learn English. English is the most commonly used language among foreign language speakers. Throughout the world, when people with different languages come together they commonly use English to communicate. English is one of the most widely spoken languages. English will open up more opportunities for you---being able to speak English allows you to communicate lots of possibilities for you in terms of the countries you could choose to seek work in one day---not to mention travel to as tourist. English will make you more desirable to employers---Being fluent in a second language clearly demonstrates a powerful brain and reflects someone who has put in the huge amount of time, resources and commitment needed to master another language.
English is the most commonly spoken language in the world. English is the language of Science, of aviation, computers, diplomacy and tourism. :)

"Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities"

"Gender equality and women's empowerment are fundamental to the global mission to achieve equal rights and dignity for all.. but equality for women and girls is also an economic and social imperative. Until women and girls are liberated from poverty and in justice, all our goals---peace, security, sustainable development---stand in jeopardy."

~~Secretary General Ban Ki-moon~~

Discrimination towards women and girls, or what is known as gender-based discrimination, is one of the most pervasive human rights violations. It severely limits the ability of women, girls and the communities the live in to protect and promote their health. gender-based discrimination is irrevocably connected to negative health outcomes for women and girls. It's socioeconomic states, ethnicity , sexual orientation, religious affiliation or geographical location. gender equality is good for health. all people should be treated similarly, unhampered by artificial barriers or prejudices or preferences, except when particular distinctions can be explicitly justified.

Every man, woman and child deserve equal rights. Equal opportunities. Equal dignity. Without discrimination. :)

MY REFLECTION

What I have Learned?

Days had past. Time is so fast! Second Grading has ended. Our memories during Second Grading Period was better than the first. Because here, you get along with each other. So many activities and blogs to do.
The discoveries and learning that I have gained or learned during our Second Grading Period in ICT was to learn how to write and use the Note Pad. The codes or the tags used. I learned also the importance of HTML on the Note Pad. When you are typing at the Note Pad, you can see that it is not proper aligned, it's like complicated because of the tags. But when you save it, there you can see the proper alignment and its good in the eye.
And even if I missed some of our lessons sometimes because of the contests and activities that I am attending, I am doing all my best just to cope up on our lessons. :)

Moving on. . .Third Grading is approaching. Hoping that next grading will be more exciting and fun. More learnings to discover on computers. I have known the programs in computers. And I know how to use to them. Thank you Second Grading Period! Welcome Third Grading Period. :)

INTRAMURAL 2014

Month of September, the Intramurals was held inside the school campus every year. It is here wherein the athletes had their competition to the different kinds of sports they want to play. Either the male or female athletes joined in the games. Their skills in such kind of games were developed as well as their sportsmanship.

During the games, most of the students cheered and yelled very loud as a way of supporting their classmates who are athletes. Some of them offered water to their players to drink. Still, all and all their booth with different kinds of games performed as such the wedding booth, horror booth, photo booth and most likely the food booth.

The said activity postponed the following day due to typhoon Mario that landed to the province of Ilocos Sur; however, it was resumed on September 25 and 26, 2014.

"My Teacher, my Hero"

TEACHER's

Welcome to the future. the world has come to the world of existence. Innovations not only in the aspect of technology, but to all the other aspects of life itself. But what leads us to all these comforts of daily living? Nothing of course, but all these are products of progressive, innovative and imaginative minds. No matter how complicated the principles and theories on inventing and formulating all these things, the formula still lies on the very basic principles of our high school subjects: Mathematics, Science, English, Filipino, Values Education and others. All the knowledge of the great philosophers and inventors have rooted from their respective relied on what the teachings their teachers and mentors have shared to them; principles they have known  and believed with and continuously craving for greater knowledge and adapting all these theories to everyday living. That is why teaching as a profession was indeed tagged as the noblest of all professions, and perhaps still evolving in the stone age.

But how are our teachers being treated now a days? Do we give them the respect that is due to them or do we just disregard all what they are sacrificing for us? As a meek student, I can honestly say that, at first, I can't measure how I look up to them as my mentor, but as days go by, I can feel that they are also my second parents, for they do not only provide us with all the knowledge we need but they also ensure our safety while we are inside the school premises. They even make sure that we are inside the school----to be of good morale, and be good citizens in the future. With all the efforts and sacrifices and with all the time they spend inside the four walls of our classrooms, for they go beyond that, specially during preparations for every competitions. All these are tasks that are not paid for by their monthly pay checks. So now, I can clearly and proudly express how I look up onto them. For me, they're not only my mere teachers and mentors but indeed, they are my heroes. And I strongly believe that HERO would only be the suitable word to describe them and the most appropriate one as well. :)

Thank you dear teacher's for all your sacrifices :) We are so proud of you. :) We love you. <3

SCIENCE MONTH CELEBRATION

"IMMUNATION
Arming Science Clubbers with Healthful Defenses
 Toward National Wellness"

The power of science is all around us. We see, hear, touch, taste and experience the wonder of science everyday.
Immunization is the process whereby a person is made immune or resistant to an infectious disease, typically by the administration of a vaccine. Vaccines stimulate the body's own immune system to protect the person against subsequent infection or disease. Immunization is a proven tool for controlling and eliminating life. Threatening infectious diseases and is stimulated to avert between 2 to 3 million deaths each year. It is one of the most cost-effective health investments, with proven strategies that make it accessible to even the most hard-to-reach and vulnerable populations. It has clearly defined target groups, it can be delivered effectively through outreach activities and vaccinations does not require any major change.

The aim of the week-long celebration is to promote the relevance of science, technology, engineering and math to our everyday lives and to demonstrate their importance to the future development of society and economy. :)

MODERN DAY HERO: MY SUPER HERO

"You're my Hero"

A hero is someone who has a strong sense of justice and goodness and acts upon that sense. A hero should not seek fame for the sake of it. What makes someone a hero? Is it their ability to put others first? Is it their bravery? I believe a hero to me is someone who goes above and beyond or isn't satisfied with being average. A hero is someone who knows what matters in life and doesn't let that slip through their fingers.

We all know that family is the first learning place of an individual in their world, our family should be the hero of our life. Yes it's true, because for me my "FAMILY" is the hero of my life. Why? Because starting from my childhood until now, I learned so many things from them. I learned also the basic communication among individuals. My family teach me to love, how to behave, how to come along with life. They are always there to help me when I need a shoulder to lean on . My family is the one who'm I learned to become a good person, I learned also on how to give importance on what GOD have given us. Their always sacrificing for me even though they know that they will suffer so much just for me. My family is the one who'm I learned to become a simple person. And on how to become a good person to Everyone. That's why I love my family so much! :)
My hero is someone who are determining to do the right thing and make sure others are doing the right thing. They put their own life at risk in order to save me or someone else. :)

FILIPINO: Wika ng Pagkakaisa

What I have learned? :)

Before we took this topic, which is blogging, I thought it's hard to learn because I'm not familiar to it. But when our teacher discussed it step by step I found out that's it's good to learn, so everyone can create their blog, everyone can share and post their opinions in the internet every time they want. By this, I can also gather some information and communicate to other bloggers. At this grading I learned how to create and post blogs.

As a student, we also have problems/challenges that we have to encounter. The problems that I encountered most is when I missed our lessons because of being absent for sometimes I'm not feeling well. It's hard to cope up on our lessons that I missed and it's very difficult when there's a teacher discussing in front of the class than looking on your notes and try to understand it by yourself.

I address this challenges/problems by learning how to be independent and learning how to be independent and learning how to understood our  lessons by my own, that's our responsibility when we were not able to attend the discussion. And I always refer to my classmates and asking what should I do and I will borrow the notes of my classmates and I try to explore it by myself.

And now first grading has ended. Time was so fast! Second grading has come. I don't have any idea on what will be our next lesson for this grading, I hope it will not made me stress. I will continue what I did last grading and I will always try my best to understood all the lessons. I hope God will continue to guide me and give me strength and lighten up my mind always so that I can understood every lessons.

"The Fifth State of the Nation Address of PNOY"

The Fifth State of the Nation Address, SONA 2014, was delivered last July 28, 2014 at the Batasan Complex in Quezon City. In it, President Noynoy Aquino presented his achievements and outlined his priorities for this fiscal year. He has also presented videos from various sources to support his  claims.

The President started his speech with a famous and common Filipino saying "Ang hindi marunong lumingon sa pinanggalingan ay hindi makakarating sa paroroonan." And he started recounting the miseries, chaos and problems of a very weak, unstable and poor Philippines at the start of his reign. He composed our country wrecked house to be renovated yet no resources are available to do so. With humble hearts and sincere voice, the President presented the transformations, progress and peace his government had done and accomplished.

Many of which are really true, but the desperate question of his "BOSS" (the Filipino people) is "How many among the 90 million Filipinos felt love and the compassion of the Aquino government? How many are the chosen ones? " Many are still waiting, aiming and hoping for the warmth and sincere touch of the government.

The Filipino people could not just believe in whatever you say now. Please show us how a good and sincere Aquino government could change and transforms our life. We couldn't see any light now, all we can witness is political war, political instability, one against the other. We need to see, witness and experience the real transformation.

As a reply to your SONA, your BOSS now says "STAND UP WITH YOUR ADVOCACY AND VALUES... LEAD US ALL TO THE REAL TUWID NA DAAN..."

NUTRITION MONTH CELEBRATION 2014 "Kalamidad Paghandaan, Gutom at Malnutrisyon Agapan"

What should we do?

Nutrition is the act of giving or getting nourishment. The problem is, what should we do to be ready always when calamities are coming and to stop the unhealthy nutrition that we people have?

We must have a good and a healthy nutrition. Why? because this is one of the important things that we people must have. We all know that many of the people in the Philippines are below normal or malnourished people. The reason for this was not having a proper diet. Some are just eating but they are not thinking what would be the cause of this. Some are not eating three times a day because of financial problems. Almost all the people now are not exercising. To have a healthy body we should be responsible enough to maintain the healthiness of our body. We should eat vegetables and fruits or any foods that are have nutrients. And to be responsible enough as a person to take care of our lives. Another problem are the calamities that are coming to our country is the reason why many people died and because of this the nutrition of many people can be affected. But don't we know that, we people are the one who are doing this tragedies, calamities in our country? Because we are not giving importance to our environment that Mother Earth gave us. Examples for this are cutting the trees, burning plastics that causes our ozone layer destroyed and many bad things that we people are doing. Instead, we should be the one who will protect and give importance to our environment. Because it is for our own good, to have a safe life in this world we are living.

We should work hand in hand to envy calamities and unhealthy nutrition. So let us be always prepared into any calamities that will come. Always be alert anytime and anywhere. :)

A Letter to the President of the Philippines

Lubong, San Vicente
Ilocos Sur
June 30, 2014

Dear Mr. President,

Good day to you sir. I am a student of Ilocos Sur National High School. And I am writing you today to express my thoughts regarding the PDAF Scam.

This scam was not still done and to all who have fault on this should be put in jail. So that they will know the mistake or crime that they did to all the Filipinos. Instead of getting the money for a useless things and just for their own good, they should just give the money back to the people who are needing much money specially to the Yolanda victims.

Thank you for your time for reading this letter Mr. President. We are hoping for the betterment of our country.

                                                                                                      Sincerely yours,
Rizza Antiquera
